Let’s give it up for the American worker. Laborers in the good ol’ US of A have organized for their rights for over a century. The fight for worker rights never really ends, and to drive that point home, every year, the U.S. labor movement gets its due with a big federal holiday on the first Monday in September. The long weekend also marks the unofficial end of summer and the traditional start to the school year. In the UK, the last bank holiday of summer usually falls around the same time. In both countries, most folks celebrate with a big backyard barbecue among family and friends. It’s the perfect time to fire up the grill and chill with a few cold ones! Dig into a satisfying AF spread of grilled food, reminisce about your crazy summer adventures, and recharge for the coming fall season.
Here at Wicked Central, we’re all about barbecue. A hint of char and a kiss of smoke level up all kinds of plant-based foods. We’re talkin’ burgers, mushroom steaks, pulled “pork” sandwiches, slaw, BBQ beans, and everything in between. If you want to go all out, give our OG Vegan Brisket a go. That’s the big kahuna of barbecue. Our version isn’t hard to make – just start the day before so that on party day, all you have to do is toss your brisket on the grill to give it some char, then slice and serve. Happy Labor Day!
