Derek, Chad and the Wicked Kitchen team recently fired up some flavor at the 2023 Hot Luck Live Food & Music festival in Austin Texas. At last year’s festival, Derek and Chad were the only vegan chefs invited to this traditional barbecue. And they got invited back!

This year, the lads partnered with the Mushroom Council on the “Shroom House,” a mushroom themed sampling station with a classic Texas steakhouse feel.

The menu was all killer, no filler.

BBQ legend and Hot Luck organizer Aaron Franklin stopped by for a bite and to congratulate the Wicked boys. More than 50 top chefs from around the country cooked at the festival, which also featured a slew of hot bands in various venues slinging awesome tunes. Derek, Chad, and the crew served plates to 2000+ hungry festival-goers with event proceeds going to the Southern Smoke Foundation, which helps hospitality industry workers when they need it most. The whole 3-day event is a rockin’ good time for a good cause. With great food. And incredible music.
