Golden Tahini Shake

Here’s a mashup of golden milk (turmeric milk) and a tahini shake that’s popular in Philadelphia. Even with its health halo, this vegan milkshake is thick, rich, and decadent AF. 

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups (300 ml) oat milk or almond milk
  • 2 Tbsp vegan cane sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 1 pint (500 ml) Wicked Kitchen Vanilla Ice Dream
  • 1/2 cup tahini

Instructions

  1. Combine the milk, sugar, vanilla, cardamom, turmeric and salt in a blender. Blend until the sugar dissolves, 30 seconds to 1 minute. 
  2. Add the Ice Dream and tahini and blend until smooth and thick. If it won’t blend, add a bit more milk until it does. Keep it thick though.
  3. Pour into small drinking glasses and sprinkle with a little more cardamom for garnish. Serve with a recyclable straw.

Notes

  • Chocolate Tahini Shake: Omit the turmeric. Use Wicked Kitchen Chocolate instead of Vanilla Ice Dream.
  • Coffee Tahini Shake: Omit the turmeric. Add 3-4 tablespoons of instant espresso powder along with the milk.
