Vegan Treats For Halloween

Did you know that plant-based Halloween foods like candy apples have roots in religious traditions of abstaining from meat? True story.

Nowadays, Halloween is mostly about the candy. Since the holiday has history in both sweets and plant-based foods, here are some of our favorite plant-based sweets featuring seasonal colors like orange, black, and red. We also included our recipe for Beet Blood (pictured above). Yes – plant-based blood! It’s basically boiled down beet juice, but it looks like deep, dark red blood. Splatter it all over your goriest Halloween costume. Muhahahaha! Or drizzle it on your favorite grilled and roasted vegetables. It’s delicious! This also happens to be the recipe shown on the cover of our Wicked Healthy Cookbook.

No matter how you celebrate the season of creepy costumes, haunted houses, and horror movies, the recipes below will help make this Halloween more fun. The vegan treats here are perfect for Halloween parties. Need some homemade candy for the kids? Try the orange and black honeycomb candy. It’s time to get Wicked on Halloween!
